Radio 1's "One Big Sunday"
Victoria Park, Leicester
2nd September 2001
After six spectacular shows accross the UK, Radio Ones - One Big Sunday's final show for the year took place at Leicester's Victoria Park.
Over the past six events fans were treated to the likes of Shaggy, Hear'say, S Club 7, Wyclef Jean,Muse, Usher, Feeder, So Solid Crew, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Ian Van Dahl and too many more to mention.
With all of these names packed into the last 6 shows the buzz was that Radio One would be lining up a spectacular end of year event and they didn't disappoint, the line-up was the music industry dream-team inlcuding: Nelly Furtado,
Faithless,
Victoria Beckham,
Jamiroquai,
Kylie Minogue,
Dido,
Craig David and last but not least Coldplay.
Opening act was none other than Nelly Furtado, this has been a roller coaster ride of success for Nelly this year, winning, what seemed like award after award.
Now Nelly was to perform here at Victoria Park at Radio Ones One Big Sunday, we asked Nelly about the crowd at Leicester
"The crowd was so happy to be here its a free event so it has this air of excitement, its back to school, all the kids going back to school so they're excited."
You can read some more snippets from our interview with Nelly Furtado in our Q&A

Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice gave it her all at OBS7 on Sunday 2nd September 2001, even bringing little Brooklyn along for the show.

So would Jamiroquai be sporting another new hat design at the last One Big Sunday? Well yes of course he would, in fact he also did a pretty good impression of the Statue of Liberty in the process. Jamiroquai didn't disapoint with his performances either, Leicester were treated to Cosmic Girl, Little L and Canned Heat.

Not that Kylie Minogue needed to prove that she was Queen of Pop, thats certainly what she did, performing 'Spinning Around' and 'Can't get you out of my Mind'.
Of course this year Kylie's shows have been featuring bezare outfits, not so much for her, but more for her dancers, bandaged dancers, Jim-L-Fix it tracksuits and who knows what else? But all this doesn't hurt, it helps draw your attention to the lovely style that is Kylie.

It's always a pleasure to hear Dido perform and her set for Radio 1 proved equally as breathtaking, performing 'Here With Me', 'Hunter' and the song everyone knows thanks to Eminem 'Stan', 'Thank You'.
Although Dido has come to expect a question about Eminem in every interview she does, she was keen to mention "I certainly don't mind the royalties I receive from his version", "Half his record is basically mine"

Well with four girls already performing on stage is was time for another guy, and not just any guy, a real girl pleaser, not only on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday but all through the week, yes thats right it's Craig David.
Performing a whopping 4 tracks including 7 days, Rendezvous and Fill Me In, Craig is nominated this year for Top R&B Act at the first ever Top Of The Pops awards.
